In January 2010, Lectrus acquired D.T.S., Inc. a Tea, South Dakota-based company manufacturing custom steel and aluminum enclosures, sub-base tanks and trailers for the commercial generator market. Also known as Dakota Enclosures, D.T.S. was established in 1979 and has developed a specialization for large, sound-attenuated projects that require unique electrical components enclosed in a high-quality, engineered metal housing. The acquisition expands Lectrus’ sales, engineering, fabrication and electrical integration capabilities into new regions of the US and Canada. The plant is situated just south of Sioux Falls, and features 78,000 sq. ft. of indoor manufacturing space with dozens of overhead cranes, including four, 30-ton units. Stationary & Mobile Generator Enclosures
Lectrus’ robust, stationary generator enclosures are used to build fully integrated, UL-listed genset packages which also contain the generator set, exhaust system and optional fuel tank. They can be designed “skin-tight” to match factory style or as a full, NEMA 3R walk-in metal enclosure. They feature a compact footprint and low profile design with easy servicing access to all major components. Dozens of options are available to meet specific customer or market-specific needs.
Lectrus designs and builds mobile power packages ranging in size from 10kw to 3MW trailers. Most projects are weatherproof and sound-attenuated. These tanks are made from structural steel and coated with acrylic urethane enamel paint to create a leak-proof, long-lasting reserve. Lectrus’ robust sub-base fuel tanks feature a compact footprint and low profile design. These rectangular-shaped steel tanks hold over 10,000 gallons and accommodate generators up to 3MW. They are UL 142 listed and can be designed to meet UL 2085 fire, impact and ballistic requirements. Dozens of options are available to meet specific customer or market-specific needs.
